What Is Nebulizer?

A nebulizer is a medical device that turns liquid medication into a mist so that it can be breathed directly into the lungs through a face mask or mouthpiece. It can be used for medical treatment of the upper and lower respiratory passages.
People with respiratory conditions such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or cystic fibrosis may use a nebulizer to take their medications. Nebulizers are particularly effective in delivering medications to infants, small children and to seniors as well as to anyone who has difficulty using an asthma inhaler.
